Hi. I'm Janet Zinger and my passion is teaching children!
I have been teaching music for over twenty-five years, since my graduation from the Bachelor of Music program at the University of Alberta. I also teach Royal Conservatory and Conservatory Canada theory and harmony.
I became involved in the MYC program twelve years ago as a result of young students that had transferred to me after completing the MYC program. I was amazed by their advanced rhythmic and sight reading skills and their overall understanding of basic musical concepts. I quickly realized that I could offer my beginning students a much more comprehensive musical education in an MYC class than in a private lesson.
My qualifications:
Bachelor of Music degree (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta
Major in piano performance
Choral and solo accompanist
Certified MYC teacher

2. MYC with Janet Zinger has been a great program for our son. He began to read music even before he had learned to read words. His reading of music helped reinforce his reading skills for school. Moreover, MYC also helped him to learn to play songs which he's heard on TV or on the radio by ear -- a nice balance between ear training and reading music. Great program taught by a great teacher.
